Brakes squealing or spongy?
Squealing, grinding or a spongy brake lever are signals to take seriously. Often the pads are worn, the brake fluid is old or there is air in the system. Don't keep riding if your brakes don't feel right. We check your brakes in Waalwijk; labour costs €75 per hour incl. VAT.
What could it be?
- Squealing or grinding: worn brake pads, or dirt between pad and disc. If you hear metal on metal, the pads are finished.
- Soft or spongy lever: air in the brake system, old brake fluid or a leak.
- Vibration when braking: a warped or unevenly worn brake disc.
- Brake keeps dragging: a caliper or piston that is sticking.

A spongy lever often points to air in the system or old brake fluid. Don't keep riding and have it checked first.
How often should the brake fluid be replaced?
Your manufacturer's schedule tells you, often every two years. Brake fluid absorbs moisture and gets worse because of it.
