Motorcycle hesitating or running rough?
Does your motorcycle hesitate when pulling away, idle roughly or respond poorly to the throttle? Often it is the mixture: a dirty or badly adjusted carburettor, an air leak or the fuel supply. A sensor or the ignition can also be the cause. We find out in Waalwijk; labour costs €75 per hour incl. VAT.
What are possible causes?
- A dirty air filter or worn spark plugs.
- On older motorcycles: dirty carburettors or carburettors that aren't in sync.
- An air leak at an intake rubber.
- A fault in a sensor or in the ignition. Is a light on too? See warning light on.
- Old or wrong fuel, for example after standing still for a long time.
What do we do?
We start with the basics: filters, spark plugs and the service history. Then we keep searching, and where needed we clean and synchronise the carburettors or set up the motorcycle again. See also tuning & adjustment and diagnostics.
