Get your motorcycle winter-ready: how to do it
Not riding much in winter? Connect the battery to a trickle charger, fill the tank with a fuel stabiliser, lubricate the chain and set the tyre pressure. Ideally change the oil before winter. That way your motorcycle will start without problems in spring. Want help? See our winter packages.

What do you do with the battery?
A battery slowly drains when the motorcycle is ridden little. Connect it to a trickle charger, and your motorcycle will start without problems in spring.
What do you do with the tank and the oil?
Fill the tank and add a fuel stabiliser, so the fuel ages less. Ideally change the oil before winter: old oil contains dirt and acids.
What else do you check?
- Chain: clean, lubricate and check the slack.
- Tyres: at the right pressure, and check tread and DOT age.
- Coolant: is the frost protection right (on liquid-cooled motorcycles)?
- Brakes and lights: does everything still work properly?
What do you do in spring?
Before your first ride, check tyre pressure, brakes and chain. Also read our guide motorcycle maintenance: what and when.
Can we do it for you?
Yes, with one of our winter packages. These are winter packages, not a major service. If your motorcycle is due for a major service, see motorcycle servicing.

Ideally before winter, so there is clean oil in your engine.
