Motorcycle won't start?
Won't your motorcycle start? First check the kill switch, the side stand and that it is in neutral or the clutch is pulled in. If the starter turns slowly or only clicks, the battery is often the cause. If that doesn't help, we find out in Waalwijk. Labour costs €75 per hour incl. VAT.
What do you check yourself first?
- Is the kill switch in the run position?
- Is the motorcycle in neutral, or are you pulling the clutch in?
- Is the side stand up? Many motorcycles won't start in gear with the side stand down.
- Is there enough fuel in the tank?
- Do the dashboard lights glow weakly or does it only click when starting? Then the battery is probably flat.
What are possible causes?
After standing still over winter, a flat or old battery is the most common cause. But a bad connection, a faulty starter motor or starter relay, a switch that doesn't pass the signal on properly, or a problem with fuel or ignition can also be the culprit.
What do we do?
